Perhaps that is why over the past five years new and expanding businesses have invested more than 261 million dollars here including Fortune 500 Companies like Duke Energy Corporation, Johnson Controls, Inc., Valenite, US Engine Valve, Schneider Electric/Square D, Borg Warner Automotive, and Jacobs Chuck. Oconee County is midway between Atlanta and Charlotte on Interstate 85.
